Het fietsroutebord staat aan de rand van de Hanzestad Hattem, nabij de plek waar het Apeldoornskanaal uitmondt in de IJssel. Hattem kreeg zijn stadsrechten in 1299 van graaf Reinoud I van Gelre. Hattem heeft een eigen volkslied, dat in 1949 ter ere van “Hattem 650 jaar stad” geschreven werd.
