Six growly lions serve as spigots for an inactive fountain that formally graced the exterior of the grand 1919 North Side high school. When I school outgrew this building and moved to its current facility in 1938, this building was repurposed as J. P Elder middle school.

The lion spigots no longer deliver water, but they add character and show the pride that this community had in its public buildings in the early part of the 20th century.
