Wilhelminaoord is a village in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Westerveld, and lies about 26 km northwest of Hoogeveen.
In 2001, the village of Wilhelminaoord had 784 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.26 km², and contained 334 residences. The statistical area "Wilhelminaoord", which can also include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 910.
The Church of Wilhelminaoord is a Reformed church built in 1851 on behalf of the Benevolent Society of settlers in the Drenthe location Wilhelminaoord.
The foundation stone was laid on April 1, 1851 by jhr. Jan Cornelis Reinier van Hoorn van Burgh, board member and secretary of the Society of Benevolence. The church, which was built with financial support from the government, belongs to the so-called Water Churches. The church and the adjacent rectory belonging to the possession of the Benevolent Society. After the death of the last pastor of the Reformed congregation in 2008, church and parsonage lost their original destination.
This very attractive church dates from 1851 and offers with its nine rows of benches and 86 individual seats up to 170 visitors.
The church is like recorded as wedding location.
The Colony Kerkje is available starting from half a day (morning, afternoon, evening).
Accessibility, wheelchair accessibility and parking are excellent.
The Church of Wilhelminaoord the adjacent parsonage are recognized as national monuments.
