Full-length figure of a Civil War soldier standing at parade rest. He is dressed in uniform, wears a cap and has a knapsack and bedroll on his back. He holds the end of his rifle with both hands, the butt of the gun rests on the ground. The bronze sculpture rests on a granite pedestal within a fenced enclosure." ~ Smithsonian American Art Museum
