RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1987 RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION, A NEW DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS. 25.2 KM (15.65 MI) EASTERLY ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 20 FROM ITS JUNCTION WITH U.S. HIGHWAY 101 IN NEWPORT, IN THE SOUTHEAST END OF THE NORTHEAST HEADWALL OF A 4 BY 4 FOOT BOX CULVERT, 5.5 M (18.0 FT) NORTHWEST OF THE EXTENDED CENTER OF A CHITWOOD ROAD LEADING SOUTH THROUGH THE CHITWOOD COVERED BRIDGE, 4.9 M (16.1 FT) NORTHEAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY, AND 0.2 M (0.7 FT) NORTHWEST OF THE SOUTHEAST END OF THE HEADWALL. THE MARK IS 0.3 M BELOW THE HIGHWAY.
