I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark from 1933 in good condition. The NGS datasheet accurately describes this station:

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 AT MENLO PARK. AT MENLO PARK, AT THE INTERSECTION OF MIDDLEFIELD ROAD, PALO ALTO AVENUE, AND WOODLAND AVENUE, NORTHEAST AND ACROSS MIDDLEFIELD ROAD FROM THE PALO ALTO CITY LIMITS SIGN, AT A LARGE CONCRETE ARCH BRIDGE OVER SAN FRANCISQUITO CREEK AND UNDER MIDDLEFIELD ROAD, IN THE TOP OF THE SOUTHEAST END OF THE NORTHEAST HEAD WALL, 17.2 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH EDGE OF MIDDLEFIELD ROAD, AND ABOUT 1 1/2 FEET LOWER THAN THE ROAD.
