There is no indication as to how these folks are related, if at all. Funeral draping is near the apex of the monument, and there is some floral decoration at the base (which shows a few cracks). Mary M. Smith was the first of the three to be buried, and her panel shows a set of clasped hands on the base, flanked by flowers, with the inscription:

Mary
M.
Smith,

Born
Dec. 13, 1845,
Died
July 27, 1873

V.C. Smith's panel is adjacent to Mary's, and it has a funereal garland on the base, flanked by flowers, with the inscription:

V.C.
Smith,

Born
Aug. 25, 1827,
Died
Dec. 12, 1880.

On the other side, adjacent to Mary's panel, is that of Sallie Myrtle Shelton, with a dove at the base, flanked by flowers, and the inscription:

Sallie
Myrtle

Daughter of
W.H. & A.J.
Shelton,

Born Dec. 13, 1881,
Died
June 30, 1883

On the panel directly opposite of Mary's is an inscription:

Take them, O
Father, in thine
arms,
And may they henceforth be
A messenger of
peace between
Our human hearts
and thee.
