I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey RESET benchmark from 1951 in good condition. My posted coordinates will place you very close to this mark. The following NGS datasheet info accurately describes this station:

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 AT PALO ALTO. AT PALO ALTO, AT THE T JUNCTION OF MARLOWE STREET AND UNIVERSITY AVENUE, 20 FEET WEST OF THE PROLONGATION OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE STREET, 2.2 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH CURB, 4.8 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH EDGE OF THE SIDEWALK, 4 1/2 FEET EAST OF POWER LINE POLE 1965 SUPPORTING FIRE BOX 3118, ABOUT 1/2 FOOT HIGHER THAN THE AVENUE, ABOUT LEVEL WITH THE SIDEWALK, FLUSH WITH THE ASPHALT BETWEEN THE SIDEWALK AND CURB, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.
