When youve been in the car too long, a good walk around can be interesting. The licht gate was what caught my eye first.
Perhaps the predecessor to the traditional wrought iron arches that mark the entrance to many US cemeteries.

A licht gate symbolized the passage from one realm to the next.
One is mentioned in one of Robert Burn's poems. It was a mixed tradition of Scottish, German, and perhaps others. Licht = going to the light . . . This was a neat area on the Fraser but not too near.
Number of burials - less than 1,000 although not all may still have markers.
