Graveside service for Richard Banda Leija, 51, of Rhome was Friday, June 27, at Boyd Cemetery. The speaker was Steve Leija.
Leija died June 24, 2003, in Fort Worth.
Born Nov. 7, 1951, in Paducah, Richard was a welder and a member of the Baptist church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Abel Leija.
He is survived by three daughters, Virgie Salazar and husband Sal of Brownfield, Michelle Leija of Brownfield and Stacy Leija of Rochester; four brothers, Daniel and wife Lilly, Johnny and wife Vickie, Lorenzo and wife Diane and Joe Leija; three sisters, Irene Leija, Paula Leija and Rosie Leija; companion Tonya Oliver; a grandson, Nathniel Salazar; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Dooley Williams, Mark Minze, Beau Winn, J.D. Erwin, Blake Stockard and Dickie Inman.
