Puvodní farní kostel, nejstarší sakrální stavba Vimperka, byl založen ve druhé polovine 13. století. Kostel byl barokne upravován až na zacátku 18. století a poté byl re-gotizován do soucasné podoby. Uvnitr jsou vzácne zachovalé pozdne gotické nástenné malby a náhrobníky z 15. - 17. století.
The original parish church, the oldest religious building of Vimperk, was founded in the second half of the 13th century. The church was adapted in the Baroque style at the beginning of the 18th century and was then re-gotized into its current form. Inside are rarely preserved Late Gothic wall paintings and tombstones from the 15th to 17th centuries.
