Blasters love searching out the various River Commission benchmarks. They are always interesting and unique plus, (as a bonus) most of them are ultracool marks like bolts, or chiseled marks, copper nails -- you know, not your standard benchmark disks (although those are cool too, of course)
Mama Blaster thought that the cool blue-green patina on this gorgeous Mississippi River Commission benchmark was so lovely that she turned a photo of it into her iPhone wallpaper. She changes her iPhone wallpaper very frequently, especially when on interesting exploring trips, but here we are three months later (Feb 2015), and her benchmark wallpaper is still in place. This benchmark beat out voodoo dolls, colorful trees, Pensacola's sand and surf, the USS Alabama, piles of colorful shells on the beach, ultracool historic fort cannons, and all manner of other fascinating things that we found on this trip.
This benchmark is truly something special to see. We hope that future waymarkers will visit and also be impressed.
(We know that was spoken like the true benchmark geeks that we are, and we are not ashamed! ha ha)
