"St James, Harpur Hill is built at the head of a valley, and so offers wonderful views over the surrounding hills, but it also receives the full force of westerly winds. Being higher than the town of Buxton it is even colder in winter! Its plan is simple, consisting of a chancel, nave and vestry, and is typically Anglican in its furnishings."
