Willie Roller was born on 29 May 1901 and died a mere 18 years later on 15 September 1919. Apart from that, both FindAGrave and an extensive web search turned up no further biographical information. He was probably too young to be in the military service during World War I.

The Roller family has been in these parts since the 1830s or 1840s. In fact, after the settlement was initially known as Herdsville or Hurdsville (for the Herd or Hurd family), it was later known as Roller Ridge, before finally being incorporated as Seligman. There are still many Roller family members in the area. (This poster is friends with several of them.)
