Having seen this category before, I never expected to find and Waymark a zinc headstone. But when my wife and daughter and I were in this Graveyard (churchyard cemetery) looking for centenarians and Woodmen of the World markers, my wife noticed an unusual marker with raised, instead of etched, letters, and otherwise looking "different". So she tapped on it and found it to be hollow. When she mentioned that, I recalled this unusual category.
From the category description, I can see why it would not be typical to find these. Both the mother, Mary M. Spicer, and son, James C. Spicer, who died one year apart, were buried during the few years that zinc headstones were being used. The marker is in excellent condition. The screws used to hold the individual plaques to the main portion of the marker are obviously screws, even with their ornateness.
At the time of this waymark posting, FindAGrave, reported 13 graves in the entire US for a T. J. Spicer, but only 3 of them were born anywhere near the time of Mary's birth. The most likely candidate for spouse is that of
Thomas Jefferson Spicer who passed away in 1925 in Arkansas.
