Vor und neben der Bessunger Kirche der Ev. Petrusgemeinde in Darmstadt sind einige Grabsteine und Kreuze aufgestellt. Auch im Brautgang finden sich alte Grabsteine, der älteste ist vom 28. Mai 1669. In front of the Bessunger church of the Ev. Petrusgemeinde (community) you will find several headstones and cross. Also in a corridor towards the church further headstones are placed (the oldest is from 28 May 1669). More information in German is available on the website of the church community (

The text on one headstone reads (including those spellings, which are not used nowadays anymore):
Deiner Asche fliesen unsere Thraenen denn uns trennt des Grams dunkle Kluft.
