Located in front of Oregon Hall and and along E 13th Avenue is a brick pad that contains a couple of benches and a map of the campus. This brick pad was dedicated on May 18, 2000 as part of University Day. Each spring since 1905, University of Oregon students, alumni, faculty, and friends have volunteered time to honor the UO campus by upholding and enhancing its beauty. Up to and sometimes more than a thousand volunteers gather to beautify campus, spreading bark mulch, planting trees and flowers, and enjoying the University’s natural environment. This brick pad was part of that celebration in 2000 as evidenced by the metal plaque commemorating the event in the brick pad.
