"One of Ipswich’s oldest and best timber-framed buildings, Oak House dates from the 15th Century. It has been much restored and now contains elements from other Ipswich houses. Look out for the fine carving on many of the timbers, particularly on the angle post and windowsills. Some of the windows are original but, surprisingly, the most ornate are new. Oak House used to be the Royal Oak Inn. "
