A beautifully landscaped park in the middle of historic downtown Morgan City hosts several large community festivals in this tight-knit industrial city.

The land for this park was donated in 1876 by the wIdow of Mr. Lawrence, for whole the park is named. A small plaque on a block of granite at the northwest entrance to the park reads as follows:
