Esther (Kelley) Weddington was born on 25 September 1906 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She attend the University of Arkansas and became a teacher, teaching in Arkansas and in Missouri in Washburn, Exeter, Cassville, and Wheaton, where she retired in 1971.

She married John P. Weddington in 1932. He passed away in 1973. They had lived in Golden from 1936 to 1946, when they moved east of Cassville and farmed. She was a long time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville. The "Meals on Wheels" charity in Cassville is an organization that she helped to establish.

She passed away on 7 October 2010 at just a couple of weeks more than 104 years old.
