Located in the heart of University of Oregon is the Collier House, erected in 1886 by then-Professor of Physics, George Haskell Collier. After Collier's death the university purchased the home and it became a library for a time. The former residence has been occupied by former presidents and chancellors over the decades. It is currently home to the Music department faculty and staff and hosts concerts, lectures and other special events.
