Hike cross country 0.5 mile S from T16S R9E S12 13 R10E S7 18 COR (WAYMARK WMNB0N) to the corner. About 0.2 mile along the way, cross the combined outflow from Melvin and Black Pine Springs.
Type of survey mark: 2-1/2" brass cap on galvanized pipe in a mound of stones; rising 1"

What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
The corner is about 70' SE from a 20' high section of rim rock. Found two ponderosa pines, each with a healed blaze, a yellow BEARING TREE tag and an ATTENTION sign on the backside. In addition, 5' N is an orange Carsonite witness post. Based on field measured GPS UTM grid coordinates, the present quarter corner bears S0.8°E from WAYMARK WMNB0J, 5286' distant.


What property is this mark defining?:
The land E of the corner is a part of Skyline Forest, presently owned by Fidelity National Timber; else Deschutes National Forest. See also Oregon Corner Restoration Record, Index File No. 0313, filed in the Deschutes County Surveyors Office.
