"Schloss Berge is situated on the south side of a hill in the part of Gelsenkirchen, which is called Gelsenkirchen-Buer. It was built as a water castle for the protection of Gelsenkirchen-Erle, and was headquarters of the family of Berge until 1433. Changed in the first half of the 16th century to a castle, the mansion presents itself in the style of the late baroque in the threshold to the classicism. Today it is used as a hotel restaurant."
