The City of Belmont is a local government area located about 5 kms east of Perth on the south bank of the Swan River.
The coat of arms has a shield with a kiln and cog in the top left representing industry, two wings representing flight in the top right (Most of Perth Airport lies within the City ), and at the bottom a racehorse ( Ascot Racecourse is within the City, The shield is topped by a crown with a black swan's head emerging
