This stairway leads through the forest towards the look-out tower on Schlossberg/Salzbüchsle. It starts on Kleiner Kanonenplatz and then goes directly up in about 13 segments with over 250 steps in all.
The look-out tower was created in 2002. The stairway was added in 2006, there are several other ways to go up there.
The stairway was created by a private association and funded by donations from individuals, companies or associations. Each segment of the stairs has a metal plate, that lists the donators of the steps.
