The memorial is a large cross on a brick pier with a plaque on the front of the memorial commemorating the fallen from the district who gave their lives in both the World Wars. On the back is a plaque honouring the fallen at Korea and Vietnam.
The present memorial replaces the original statue that stood until 1946 when the cross was erected

The Front Inscription reads

Who Gave Their Lives
In The Cause Of Freedom
1914 - 1918 1939 - 1945
"We Will Remember Them"
