In Honor Of
Fred H. Shaw
whose spirit of service built the foundations of a Company which has enhanced this community, provided employees for area families, & spread over the whole of Missouri.
Space created when an old brick building became a hazard and was razed, a luncheon, or pocket park was created.
When I was there it was very hot, and the water flow in this confined space actually made a difference
"Three people were killed and a fourth was injured Thursday when a minivan crossed a highway median and struck a pickup truck head-on, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred shortly before noon on U.S. 71 near Belton, about 20 miles southeast of Kansas City, and closed the southbound lanes for more than four hours.
Authorities identified the victims as the minivan's driver, Fred H. Shaw, 86, of Liberal, Mo.; his wife, Margaret Shaw, 90; and the driver of the pickup, Larry L. Freeman, 67, of Fairmont, Minn.
Freeman's wife, Marlys M. Freeman, 69, was taken to a hospital with what officers described as moderate to serious injuries.
Witnesses said Shaw did not appear to slow down as his northbound minivan crossed the grass median and slammed into the southbound pickup truck" ~ Mankato Free Press
