This is an old independent pharmacy, and its age is shown in the bronze plaque with the name of it: Pharmacia Aliança. Not that "Pharmacia" shows the old way of writing it, replaced by "Farmácia" in the early 20th Century. In fact it opened in 1909, occupying by then a smaller space than nowadays. Only after 1984 was this shop renovated.
