This plaque is dedicated to Walker's Reserve, commanded by Brig. Gen. William Henry Talbot Walker (November 26, 1816 – July 22, 1864) in recognition of their service during the Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 19–20, 1863. The plaque describes the action on Sept. 20, 1863. This is one of three plaques to Walker's Reserve Corps on the battlefield.

To reach this monument:
From the parking area on Reed’s Bridge Road, follow the path south to the marker. Pass the table for Strahl's Brigade (CSA). The path will fork, continue straight (south) along the same path. This path will dead end in to a path running east – west. Alexander’s Bridge and Battleline Roads will be to the west.

Text on the plaque reads:
Walker's Reserve Corps.
Maj. Gen. Wm. H. T. Walker.
Sept. 20, 1863

Walker’s Division, Brig. Gen. States Rights Gist.
Liddell’s Division, Brig. Gen. St. John R. Liddell.

After the repulse of Breckinridge’s division about 11 A.M. the division of Walker and Liddell were brought forward and at noon Walker’s division attacked the Union lines northeast of the Kelly field and was repulsed. Walthall’s brigade of Liddell’s division on the left of Walker also made an attack and was forced to retire. Liddell ‘s brigade of the same division was driven back after reaching a point near the Lafayette road. At 5 P.M. Liddell division supported by Walker’s advanced across the Lafayette road at McDonnell’s. From this position Liddell’ division was at first forced back by enfilading battery fires and by a charge of Turchin’s Union brigade along its front but subsequently reoccupied the position at dusk and the whole corps bivouacked on this portion of the field.

Each location on the map has a number associated with it that cross-references to an index on the back of the map that has the name of the marker (called the Chick-Chatt NMP monument numbering system). This number corresponds to the structure Number listed on the NPS List of Classified Structures that is normally prefixed with the letters MT for the Chickamauga Battlefield.
