As is usual this mill pond dam is known as the 'Mill Pond Dam'.

A dam existed at this location as early as 1810 allowing the creek here to flood the lower lands in the area thus forming a pond on which a mill was built allowing development in the area to prosper.

Fishing is an active activity in this area during all seasons of the area with many people ice fishing during the cold winter months.

There is a hiking trail which encircles the pond with a bridge crossing the southern end of the pond which was part of a training exercise for the Elgin milita in the early 2000's.
