US 99 crosses the Rogue River, 169 m., on the graceful CAVEMEN'S BRIDGE to a junction with US 199 at 169.3 m. (see TOUR 2l).

--- Oregon: End of the Trail, 1940

The Caveman Bridge is probably Grants Pass' most visible and recognizable landmark in the city. Built in 1931 by renowned engineer Conde B. McCullough this arch bridge still functions in the same capacity it did in 1931 and appears to be able to function as a bridge for another 100 years.
