The South Perth Memorial commemorates the sacrifice of 15 South Perth soldiers who fell in World War One. The monument consists of a semi-circular brick wall with stone capping, with a stone pillar at each end, the left one has 1914 in a laurel wreath and the right one 1918, each pillar is topped with a decorative metal fixture. In between the two ends of the wall is a stone plinth used to support a German 170mm field gun, which was captured during World War One.
The location proved to be unsuitable and a second War Memorial was constructed at the South Perth Civic Centre. Anzac Day ceremonies are now held at the new memorial. The World War One War Memorial is no
longer used for any official ceremonies, but a wreath is laid there on Anzac Day in recognition of World War One service personnel.
