Marker 1:

Leetown
Morning
March 7, 1862
The Confederates launched their main attacks from the west end of Pea Ridge. Cavalry under McIntosh and Pike's Indians struck Union troops in the fields west of Round Top, drove them back and captured three cannons.

     Leetown
     Afternoon
     March 7, 1862

The reinforced Union line held.
   1. Artillery fire broke up the Indian unit.
   2. Continued cavalry attacks failed.
   3. Confederate Generals McCulloch and
   4. McIntosh were killed in quick succession.
   5. A new Confederate drive succeeded briefly, but
   6. The Union counterattack captured
   7. Colonel Hébert.
The Southern drive was halted ad repulsed.
