The Original sculpture in Marble, mounted on this column lasted for 150 years, the Marble sculpture was blown over by a gale in 2008. The sculpture was replaced with a Bronze Union Soldier in 2011.

Lincoln, Illinois, is proud to be the only town in America named for Abraham Lincoln before he became President.
