Adjoining the plaza is LITHIA PARK (playgrounds, tennis and horseshoe courts; tourist camp), a large tract of hardwood and fir, attractively landscaped. In this park is a zoo containing wild animals of the region.

--- Oregon: End of the Trail, 1940

Today, Lithia Park no longer is home to an Auto Camp but there is still one cabin remaining, preserved for historical significance. Also, the zoo is no longer here. The park is Ashland's second most popular local destination, after the Shakespeare Festival. A beautiful Japanese Garden, children's playground, a fountain purchased and relocated from the San Francisco World Expo of 1915, tennis courts, amphitheater, Ashland Creek, and other highlights compliment this park, designed with a Frederick Law Olmsted influence.
