The Roque House is part of an interesting cultural area along Cane Bayou near the Tourist info center in downtown Natchitoches LA.
The historic marker in front of the house reads as follows:
"Roque House 1803.
A freedman of color, Yves, likely constricted this Creole building around the turn of the 19th century. It was named for its last occupant, Madame Aubert Roque. The house was moved to this location from downriver in 1967.
Cane River National Heritage Area"
