Reichsbankbaubüro Berlin decided to build a branch at this concise location opposite to the old town hall. This happened 1926-1927.
At that time Buer was an independent city.
Reichsbank opened on 1/2/1928, and it was in use until 1978 by Landeszentralbank.
The female sculpture on the gable wall is called "Hertha". The artist was Josef Thora.
