"Flame of Freedom"
Presented by the American Legion in
commemoration of it's 50th anniversary
and dedicated to all those that served
the cause and freedom in the Armed Forces
of the United States.
The original FLAME OF FREEDOM was erected in St. Louis Missouri on the spot where the American Legion was founded [see gallery], it still burns today. The National American Legion encouraged each state, and maybe locals to follow suit and commemorate the 50th Anniversary with courthouse additions of the Flame of Freedom.
A similar one erected in Atlanta, GA during the same celebration called also the Flame of Freedom
And also in Wichita Falls, TX
