The Richardson-Bates House, owned and operated by the Oswego Historical Society is a wonderful example of an early Victorian-era high society home.

It is located at 135 East Third Street in Oswego, in an area long noted for grand-style mansions and large estate homes.

This house is of note in that fully five consecutive generations of the Richardson and Bates families called this home. The house was completed in 1850 and added to throughout the next 95 years. It was donated to the Oswego Historical Society and converted into a museum.
