Once a medieval guildhall and townhouse, it was later replaced by a boy's school, built in 1814. A girl's wing was added in 1842. At that time the children were separated by gender and there were two different entrances, one marked 'Boys', the other 'Girls'
Enlarged in 1871/72 and in 1915 it housed 200 children. It closed when a new village school was built in 1985. The church purchased the former school building in 1998 and converted it to the Dickleburgh Church Rooms.
