Little League and softball, both fastball and slow pitch, are really popular in Merritt, which explains the four ball fields in this park. On tournament weekends all four are busy through most of the day. The city claims to have five ball parks in the park, but we could only find four of them.

There are washrooms centred in the park, also at the west end of the parking lot, with a playground and a gazebo nearby and a large parking lot at the front of the park, which is adjacent to Highway 5A at the north end of the city. Near the playground is what appears to be a little used sand volleyball court. Just north of the highway and surrounded by the parking lot is a fairly new skate park.

Central Park

This park is home to 5 ball fields, kid’s playground, sand volleyball court, washrooms and a gazebo for all your tournament needs. Also you can follow the paved trail along the golf course that will lead you right to Rotary Park.
