This Roman Catholic church was built in the years 1903 to 1904. The architect was M. J. Scherer from Gelsenkirchen. He designed this house of God in the New Gothic style.
The laying of the foundation stone took place on 6/7/1903, and the consecration was made by the bishop of Paderborn, Dr. Wilhelm Schneider, on 10/10/1904.
