In South Kingstown, on the main campus of the University of Rhode Island is this dated stone for 1897.

The building is located on the quad for the university. It is west of Upper College Road. We parked in a public lot to the east of the Fine Arts Building, then walked over.

Lippitt Hall is a multi-story grey stone building with a peaked roof and a tudor wood design on the right. The dated stone is over the main entrance. It has the year 1897, and includes a relief of an anchor, which is part of the state flag.

According to a URI alumni magazine, Lippitt Hall is the third oldest building on the campus. Around 2009, it went through a major renovation to upgrade the building, including Wi-Fi. Currently, the Mathematics Department occupies the building.
