"Nesta igrexa de Cambeda a arquitectura é de base románica, se ben a capela maior é neoclásica (fins do século XVIII ou principios do XIX), ó igual que a capela meridional, do último tercio do século XVIII. Pola súa parte, a torre-campanario é Barroca, derradeiros anos do século XVIII, e a capela do lado norte, dedicada ó Perpetuo Socorro, cúbrese cunha bóveda de crucería nervada que nos remite ó século XVI de pervivencias góticas. A sancristía encádrase dentro do clasicismo do último tercio do século XVII e destaca no conxunto, nela atópanse caprichosas figuras nas seis ménsulas que suxeitan o teito. Trátase de seres míticos ou simbólicos, de rostro humán, animais imaxinarios, etc.. Non hai relación de continuidade entre as figuras e probablemente nin sequera teñan significado simbólico conscente. Cóidase que se colocaron cunha finalidade meramente decorativa. Ten planta de salón formada por unha capela maior rectangular e unha soa nave tamén rectangular; no muro norte ábrese unha capela lateral, mentras que no muro sur sitúase a sancristía e outra capela. O presbiterio aparece cuberto con bóveda de canón de cantería de granito e un arco triunfal volteado comunícao coa nave. Arcos de medio punto dan acceso dende o interior desta última ás capelas laterais. O conxunto complétase cunha tribuna situada ós pés do edificio. O presbiterio está cuberto a catro augas e o resto do edificio a dúas. A fachada presenta unha porta de entrada adintelada dominada por unha fornela coa imaxe de San Miguel. Sobre ela, unha seteira ilumina debilmente o interior. O remate é unha sinxela cruz, xa que o campanario aparece adouado ó muro sur, sendo de grandes dimensións e de base cadrada, sobre o que se asenta o corpo de campás. O último corpo do campanario fórmao un cupulín formado por un tambor poligonal e unha cúpula bulbona que confire unha maior altura ó conxunto no que a decoración a base de pináculos é abundante. Destacan os canzorriños que sosteñen o teito da sancristía, son de estilo barroco e aparecen tamén no interior soportando o peso do teitume."
