Designed by CNR Architects in Winnipeg, this Canadian National Railway depot was completed in 1927. Designated a National Heritage Railway Station on April 6th, 1992, it stands along the railway tracks north of Lorne Street, now a pub and restaurant.
When passenger service was discontinued a few decades ago the station was taken over by the city. They leased the building to the Culos Group who gave the station a multi-million dollar facelift and built Station Plaza around it. As part of the upgrades and renovations this utility box has been covered with enlargements of old photos of the station and steam locomotives running through downtown Kamloops.
