It is located in Herkulesstraße in the eastern part of the city centre.
This mural decorates the facade of the transformer station of RWE AG.
The commissioner was RWE Systems AG in 2009.
In only 10 weeks this photo-realistic artwork was finished with active support by local pupils. It measures about 1000 m/2.
On the western wall of the station you can see a lot of funny things.
For example: on the left part of the artwork there is a little kiosk, named Lümmel, where one can buy "Zinnober" instead of CocaCola, or the "Blind" Zeitung and - of course - Bockwurst and fresh eggs.
The middle of the paintig shows the Hotel Arosa in Essen-Rüttenscheid and a part of the univerity building.
When you are looking to the right site you will recognise the train "2010" with a graffiti on its side. In the foreground there is a nice woman and her dog taking a sun bath.
