This cut mark is on the right hand side of the entrance to Gannow Tunnel on the Leeds Liverpool Canal.

This tunnel was constructed around 1796 when the canal was extended from Gargrave to Burnley. The cut mark is underneath a British Waterways information sign. It is in good condition apart from the right hand downward line of the arrow which is rather faded.
