Located in front of the Josephine County Courthouse on top of a former flagpole is a small, bronze plaque that reads:

IN MEMORY OF
MRS. ARILLA PATTON
GOLD STAR MOTHER★
NOVEMBER 11, 1934
AM. LEGION AM. LEG. AUX.
G.A.R. W.R.C.
U.S.W.V U.S.W.V. AUX.
V.F.W. V.F.W. AUX.
D.A.V. D.A.R.
S. OF U.V. D. OF U.V..

This plaque exists where a former flagpole used to stand. I could not locate any pertinent information on Arilla Patton online. I also wonder if there may be a family connection to General George S. Patton?

Location: Josephine County Courthouse
