In South Kingstown, on the University of Rhode Island (URI) Kingston Campus, is the Everett P. Christopher Arboretum.

This arboretum is located located on the 1,200 acre main campus of URI and is interspersed among the campus trees. Trees associated with the arboretum have a post with a tag beside them with the ID number and basic information about that tree.

There is very little information that I found about this arboretum. I found no signage, no maps, and one web page from URI about the botanical gardens and the arboretum. There is a short page on Wikipedia, as well. The bottom line is that I don't know where all the trees are, how long the arboretum has existed, and if there is active research going on. The botanical gardens do seem to be active, and, therefore, I believe that the arboretum, too, is active.

Tree that I found were generally around the campus quad - a large grassy area bounded by stone buildings and lines of primarily sycamores. Tagged trees included:
-#36 Blue Atlas Cedar
-#150 Silver Sprite Littleleaf Linden
-#156 Commendation Elm
-#130 Red Oak
-#125 Weeping Higan Cherry
-#14 Norway Maple

There is obviously no charge to view these trees. Follow the signs for proper parking locations - we parked near the Fine Arts Building.
