The white granite marker is located outside the main entrance to the Crystal Palace in Picton. It is adorned by a bronze sculpture of two upturned hands. The Municipality crest is affixed to the lower part of the monument.
The monument is accessible by entering the Picton Fairgrounds from Main Street/Hwy 49.
It was erected to identify and pay tribute to all those volunteers, past, present and future, who have given their efforts to improve the town and surrounding area.
The Inscription reads:
In recognition of
"The Volunteers"
of Prince Edward County
past, present and future,
youths and adults,
for their enthusiasm
and dedication,
for caring
and achievement,
for creating
a better community.
With appreciation from
the citizens of
"The County"
